It’s time to add or update your farmers market information for the 2014 USDA National Farmers Market Directory!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is launching its annual updating process for the USDA National Farmers Market Directory. The directory, maintained by the Agricultural Marketing Service, is designed to provide consumers with convenient access to information about your farmers market listing to include: market locations, directions, operating times, product offerings, accepted forms of payment, and more.

Over 8,100 markets across the nation rely on the directory to help connect them to more customers. The database is voluntary and relies on input from farmers market managers, representatives from state farmers market organizations, and other key market personnel.

It’s easier than ever to list your market! Markets managers that have a valid email address listed in the directory were sent a separate email invitation with a specific link to update their market listing. So make sure to check your spam filter too! If you did not receive an email invitation or this is your first time listing your market(s) in the Directory go to www.usdadirectoryupdate.com and in less than 5 minutes you’re done.

Be sure your market listing is added or updated no later than June 23rd so your farmers market will be include in the National Farmers Market Week Reports! Even if you listed your market last year, you still need to go back in the directory again to make sure all your information is correct. If the market is no longer in operation in 2014 or you do not manage or represent the market any more, you can let us know that when you access the link.

If you encounter any problems accessing, completing, or submitting the form, please email the Farmers Market Directory Technical Support team at farmmkt@msu.edu. In your email, please provide your name and a telephone number where you can be reached between 8:00 am and 5:00pm (EDT) on weekdays. You may expect a response within 2 business days.

If you have questions concerning the process for updating the directory, please contact the Farmers Market Directory Management team at directoryupdates@ams.usda.gov. An email response will be sent within 2 business days of receiving the inquiry.

Thank you for taking time to update your market information for the 2014 USDA National Farmers Market Directory. Don’t delay, get your market information listed or updated by June 23rd.
